If that is how Nicki Minaj creatively expresses herself then try appreciate before bashing it after only taking a look at the surface level.

She clearly doesn’t identify with the normative black rap artist identity. The identity that entails being hood 24/7 and talking as if you have no education. Also, it includes acting a damn fool and having a whole bunch of naked women degrading themselves in music videos for money. 

She wasn’t just rapping. She bringing a more theatrical perspective to her music. Personally it reminded me of vaudeville theater (i believe thats it …from the 1800s) which was usually crazy in its presentation to create a mood in the audience but had stronger meaning through it all.

I don’t think she is trying to be like Lady Gaga or Lil Kim. But the one thing that is hypocritical is when people preach about opening their mind and yet they look at her and say this is the end of music when we are know the end of music will come when we cease to exist. People like her are the people with their mind opened the most while others sit back and call it crazy or stupid or whatever. I try my best to be open to all things.

If I don’t like something, it is because I actually don’t like or don’t trust what it means or symbolizes at its core.

And of course we are all going to have our own opinions on what we like. That is why you are you and I am me. But don’t claim the end of music because you don’t like how music is transforming into something more and something you are not used to.

For me, I have a playlist for every musical period hah. There will always be musical legends as there always has been. Mozart was a music legend in his day.

Also, I’m learning the hard truth of not enabling other peoples happiness at the expense of my own.

Apple is an extraordinary company. It is nearly worth half a trillion dollars. Steve Jobs is an inspirational figure. I bet he never thought his company would get this big when he founded it.
